Black Pearl is as classic rock as it gets... starting with its founding members, Drummer Mark Ewert and Bass /Vocals Scott Lancaster. Black Pearl was born of the pandemic. Scott and Mark have known and played with each other for over 30 years. We put this band together to feed each other's musical spirit. We Had a change in personal. So we added a two Guitarists. Jeff Karr and Jake Merlone The band was complete. That's when the magic happened.. What Black Pearl brings to every performance is energy and true entertainment. We provide pro lights and sound. Locally, you can find Black Pearl this season at Avalon Pier,The Eagles Club, and the Bananarama Sand Island Celebration. Mark Ewert (The Drummer) Mark has played drums and percussion instruments for over 30 years both in live performances and recording sessions. He honed his craft studying with such well known percussionists as Charlie Adams, Kurt Custer, and Chester Thompson, and recently toured with the Grammy award winning singer/songwriter John Parr of St Elmo’s Fire fame. His musical influences include Jon Bonham, Carl Palmer, Tommy Aldridge, and Omar Hakim. Originally from Dayton Ohio, where he played with Razz and other local bands, Mark later traveled South playing with Nashville-based bands, Blood Brothers and Mr. Blue Jones, who was nominated "Best Electric Blues" group in Nashville. With numerous TV and radio credits, as well as a plethora of studio recordings to his credit, he feels the same sense of excitement from live performances that drew him to the stage originally and always challenges himself to be the best that he can be. He recently landed in North Carolina where he is a sought-after musician for both live and sessions work. Scott Lancaster (The Singer, Bassist, Guitarist) Scott can bring the heat. with a long professional career spanning 30 years in Branson and playing with the likes of Joe Diffy and other national stars that came to town. Scott is a well rounded musician with tons of tunes packed away. Kevin Molina (The Guitarist and Songwriter) Born in LA, Kevin dove into the metal scene and never looked back. His influences include Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen. Kevin's monster rock style and great sense of humor just adds to the fun.
